- AV Power conditioning with Battery Back-Up: Protects connected loads from surges, spikes, lightning, and other power disturbances, including complete power outages.
- Safety-agency approved: Ensures the product has been tested and approved to work safely with the connected AV system. UL, cUL, RoHS Compliant
- Boost and Trim Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR): Eliminates voltage fluctuations as a source of AV signal degradation and component power-supply stress. This is probably the most important feature for audio and video systems to perform their best.
- Isolated power filter banks: Dramatically reduces electromagnetic and radio frequency interference (EMI/RFI) as sources of audio-video signal degradation.
- Dataline surge protection: Provides protection of connected equipment from power surges on the data lines.
The P80AV-800 by Xtreme Power Conversion rides the incoming electricity (thats what “line-interactive” means), monitoring against potentially damaging voltage dips and spikes, and filters out EMI / RFI noise in your electricity to improve the performance of connected audio and video systems. It also features built-in batteries that can power your system components for up to 15 minutes, giving you time to shut them down in a safe and orderly fashion.
The P80AV-800 provides 8 battery-protected outlets for your audio / video equipment. They’re grouped into 2 banks; the upper bank has programmable outlets for connection to non-critical loads. The lower bank is meant for mission-critical loads like your cable box & WiFi router. You also get surge-protected RS-232, USB, EPO, plus an intelligent slot for optional cards (Web/SNMP, Relay/dry contact, Modbus)
The battery back-up system gives your components a dependable stream of pure sine-wave power (not simulated) during unexpected outages, more common now from severe storms. This feature avoids the dreaded re-boot process for cable boxes and WiFi Routers.
This can help those with projections systems by protecting your projector’s lamp, keeping its cooling fan engaged, or by giving you time to save the video game you’re playing so you don’t lose your progress. It will keep your internet connection live, meaning no down time.
Automatic Voltage Regulation circuitry keeps outgoing AC power within a narrow optimal voltage range for your AV system. Linear Filtration Technology (EMI/RFI) filters noise evenly across the entire frequency band, significantly lowering the harmonic distortion that can keep your equipment from delivering its peak performance. The front panel display keeps you informed about battery charge level, load, inbound and outbound voltage, and a lot of other parameters and control features.
The rear mounted fan is off during normal operation. It comes on at first use for about 20 minutes and is audible when the batteries are charging, which only happens during a sustained black-out, not during normal operation. The chassis is component sized, with rack handle adapters and tower pedestals for vertical installations.
In an extended power outage lasting more than a day, the P80AV-800 becomes the power source for your smartphones and tablet computers. A docking station like the one shown here has one AC receptacle for 8 devices. The battery system can re-charge your portables for 3 or 4 days in an emergency, especially if they are the new fast charge models. This ability to protect and extend the operation of my AV system, network, and portables gives me great peace of mind.
The P80AV cures the 5 most common power problems.
