Description

The S2000 Pro cabinets are made with thick MDF panels, damped internally to eliminate resonance and braced against vibration. They feel solid and substantial when you pick them up, a good sign of quality engineering.

The 5 degree tilt of the front panel creates a stunning panorama of sound, perfect for home theater movies as well as music.  It aligns the arrival time of the low and high frequencies at your listening position to provide localization cues for each voice and instrument in front of you, stereo imaging at its best.  You dont hear music coming out of a box, instead you hear a huge immersive sound field, just like the best audiophile speakers on the market.

The heart of the S2000 Pro speaker is its woofer / mid-range driver, it covers most of the audible range so its design is critical.  The S2000 Pro woofer is 5.5″, inspired by legendary speaker designer Phil Jones, featuring a hard-anodized aluminum cone with an over-sized, under-hung voice-coil and powerful neodymium magnet.  The combination of these design elements delivers a stunning clarity of sound with audibly lower distortion than its competitors, with no stress as the volume is increased.  Edifier makes these in-house, using the best lab equipment to judge their performance, including the largest anechoic chamber in the world and analysis by a German-made KLIPPEL diagnostic device.

The high frequencies are reproduced by a fast, new, planar diaphragm tweeter. Today’s best hi res audio content contains extended high frequencies, up to 192K bandwidth.  Rich, smooth, and detailed, with great directionality to the listening position, minimizing reflections that can interfere with the stereo image, these tweeters provide the localization cues that enable our auditory system to precisely locate voices and instruments in the space between the speakers, delivering concert-like realism, and able to keep up with the demands of today’s extended high frequency content.

DSP-Based Electronic Crossover and Dynamic Management

The S2000 Pro uses an application of new electro-acoustic technology. Taking advantage of two Texas Instruments digital processing DSP chips, TLV320AIC3254, the S2000 Pro uses its miniDSP function to deliver incredibly loud and tight bass response.  Independent of the electronic crossover and dynamic management, the S2000 Pro offers precise control of frequency allocation.

Digital-to-Analog and Analog-to-Digital Converter Signal

The S2000 Pro’s on-board DAC (digital-to-analog converter) and ADC (analog-to-digital converter) has a built-in Burr-Brown PCM1802 by Texas Instrument. The Burr-Brown DAC and ADC use audio signaling that reaches towards -105 dB signal to noise ratio (SNR). The analog input signal via RCA or XLR uses traditional HiFi methods that are recognized by WIMA capacitors. This in turn ensures lower signal loss. As for optical and coaxial inputs, the interface chip is the PCM9211 by Burr-Brown, it supports native 24-bit / 216K high res audio input signal beautifully, delivering a rich audio banquet for your listening pleasure. The quality of these electronics is a huge factor in the quality of the sound, the price of the highest performance has come down to a point where everybody can afford it.

Adjustable Treble, Bass, and Volume Controls

Located on the rear panel of the S2000 Pro speakers are three knobs for manually adjusting the treble, bass, and volume; a fully featured set of manual controls with analog and digital inputs. The master volume knob has precision adjustment and memory volume control set above a certain volume level. RCA inputs are available for both RCA, XLR, and AUX connections. Experience high definition audio through either the optical or coaxial connection. XLR inputs allow you to connect the S2000 Pro to a professional mixer for those more advanced in audio technology.  It Comes with 16-foot, 5-pin professional-grade cable that connects the right channel speaker to the left channel speaker.

Full Digital Amplifier Powered Speaker

The S2000 Pro uses three professional Class D digital amplifier chips for producing the best sound in its class. The TAS5754 from Texas Instruments run independently from each other ensuring they do not cause interference while running their respective output. The first chip is in control of treble and bass, respectively driving both speakers. The second chip runs strictly the woofers of the S2000 Pro using a PBTL (parallel to the bridge) connection which helps build power reserves. The last TAS5754 is dedicated to the amplifier output frequency of 768 KHz. In combination, this design leads to the lowest noise and distortion specs ever for an active speaker system in this price class.

Remote Control

The S2000 Pro comes packaged with a professional wireless remote control for easy volume control, input select, EQ mode selection along with other operations. Never get up from your sofa again for audio adjustments. The elegant S2000 Pro wireless remote control gives you power at your fingertips. The control makes it easy to manage volume, change inputs, choose which EQ mode you prefer, and control other operations.

Status Indicator

The S2000 Pro status indicator is a convenient way to understand the mode your speakers are in. The indicator clearly labels the input it is currently set in. The simplicity of the design presents a level of professionalism that Edifier works so hard to achieve. Rubber feet de-couple the speaker from its mounting surface to eliminate vibration. No other speaker system in this price class has ever achieved this level of sophistication and performance for such a down to earth price.

Bluetooth 4.0 aptX Decoder

The S2000 Pro uses a state-of-the-art CSR8645 chipset for Wireless Bluetooth 4.0 reception. With a built-in aptX decoder, the S2000 Pro generates lossless Bluetooth playback without wires. Enjoy hi res audio quality sound from any Bluetooth enabled device, including all of today’s smartphones.

Handsome, awesome sound, well-built bookshelf speaker system. These Edifier S2000 Pro bookshelf speakers are replacing a Klipsch Gallery G-17 Air Speaker. I loved the overall sound of the Klipsch, but the lack of solid bass and stereo imaging finally drove me to upgrade after much study and decision making. I am an old music lover of everything from classical, to opera, to popular, rock, and all types of music and wanted a system that provided the listening satisfaction I needed. These Edifier’s do just that! Excellent bass, delicious mids, and good highs. The boxed set of the Edifier’s represent a good indication that these are a class set, very well packaged (triple boxed for protection), and excellent connection hardware that makes setup easy and quick. I used these in a bedroom setting and right now, am limited in the speaker separation that I desire, but the cord between them is 15 feet long so there are possibilities in moving them further apart. Bear844, Consumer Jan 2018

The sound is beautiful with all types of music, and the bass is very well balanced and more than sufficient. I had a Fostex HP-A3 DAC, which I now use exclusively for headphones since the Edifier’s have DAC built it and match the speakers very well. Kind of like the best of 2 worlds: open room sound from the Edifier’s or closed sound from my headphones. I must also mention the excellent sturdy remote control with bluetooth functions as well. I’m convinced the Edifier S2000pro is the best for the buck that I have seen and heard!

Blown away by this outstanding product. For starters, the look and finish is gorgeous. The heavy construction is flawless. Even the packaging oozes quality. But the sound quality for this price point is truly unbelievable. Powerful, tight bass, with crisp clear mid and highs. The sound is both warm and punchy, and has plenty of volume to fill my admittedly modest-sized apartment without straining. The bluetooth technology from my phone and laptop works like a dream from the other end of the apartment. I had no idea this kind of sound quality was possible without piecing together a much more expensive separates set-up (which I’ve done several times in the past). If you’re on the fence about these, my advice would be to take the leap immediately! James, Consumer Dec 2017

Outstanding speakers, might be an overkill for your computer but if you want to spoil yourself just buy this beautiful pair. Not an audiophile here but love music and experienced many speakers such an Sonus Faber and B&W and these ones have nothing to be ashamed of. Buy it, you won’t be disappointed. Well, these have replaced a THX Certified 5-1 speaker system that no longer had support within Windows 10. This previous unit was 500 watt, a real power house that sounded great, bought back in 1996. When I purchased these I was concerned about the watts, and also the sound. I was blown away… They are terrific; sound quality, volume is way more than needed, and the overall build quality, it was way past most items made today. How they were fabricated, packaged, and delivered was exceptional, and you can tell the people that work for this company care for the product they are making. I’m not a sound professional, so to speak, but hate hearing music that is flawed. The sound is crystal clear, the instruments are more noticeable, and even at a higher volume the clarity is exceptional. Nothing, no not one thing, was disappointing.. Very happy… Dataman72, Consumer August 2017

Impressive to say the least. I should preface this by disclosing that I run five energy rc10’s in my theater room powered by emotiva amps with two SVS PC13 Ultras handling the lower frequencies. I purchased these to replace a faulty sound bar in my downstairs living room. Setup was a breeze and the initial impression while playing music was of an immense soundstage with absolutely stunning highs and a rather impressive midrange. This is without any burn-In whatsoever.

Next I switched to Netflix and selected guardians of the galaxy. Dialogue is forward and without a hint of mud, mids are nearly perfect even when pushed they don’t break up. They are rated at 50hz but certainly dig lower (I didn’t measure it but would guess low 40’s) with a punchiness that I certainly didn’t expect. They go loud without any distortion, it’s quite amazing really.

In a really large room they would benefit from a sub but in a medium room on their own these absolutely demolish any sound bar that I’ve ever heard at any price. I’m impressed. Mike Arrowhead, Consumer Jan 2018
